Head of the department:
Prof. dr Milan Mataruga
full professor

A wide range of subjects studied at the Department of Forest Genetics and Forest Establishment enables students to acquire state-of-the-art knowledge in the fields of forest genetics, variability, methods of breeding forest and ornamental trees and shrubs, conservation of genetic resources, seed production and planting. (orchards) for different purposes: production (long-term and short-term orchards), social and ecological (protective). .

The ongoing scientific development in subjects relevant to the department requires its members to frequently innovate their work and platforms of delivery. The departmental staff acquires their knowledge through prestigious European and global institutions, allowing for a significant presence in international research projects and scientific gatherings. Through this solid academic and informational foundation, the department can monitor modern scientific trends, acquire new knowledge, and effectively transfer information to students in their first, second and third cycle of studies.

In addition to the teaching, scientific and research processes, the members of the department have excellent cooperation with business entities in the Republic of Srpska. The organization of conferences, symposia and seminars is accomplished with the participation of recognized European scientists with whom the Department has excellent cooperation.
