Department of forest resources use
The Department of Forest Resources Use instructs a group of courses in the first and second cycles of studies, giving students the opportunity to acquire a wide array of knowledge regarding wood and non-wood forest products, standardization, ergonomics, forest communication planning and design, forestry techniques and technologies, forest biomass for energy, as well as the basics of mechanical wood processing.
Through a series of subjects that are distributed in different years of study, alongside the knowledge acquired in other departments, students are given the skills and resources to independently plan, organize and monitor production in forestry. During the teaching process, students are given the opportunity to witness and participate in learned lecture material, which is achieved through holding field classes in cooperation with JPS „Sume RS“ a.d. Sokolac. Teachers and associates of the Department hold alumni status or are continuing their studies at renowned academic institutions, such as the Universities of Ljubljana and Belgrade. The staff of the Department are involved with projects at both local and international levels, and students are given the opportunity to work on these projects as collaborators.
