Besides of education and research as the basic missions of University, the third-mission of University can be explained as a relation between of them and social-economic environment of a society. It contains two elements: society and economic, they should be equal. University’s third-mission can be realized through two meanings and that service to the community as opposed to commitment in the community.
The third-mission is realtion between university education and society beyond the first (education) and the second (research) mission; the new double role of university as bearer of positive changes which contribute to development of society and entrepreneurs which contribute to economic development.
The third-mission of university implies the social and economical dimenssion which should be equal important. It base is a private-public partnership, cooperation university with economy and state. Some authors the third-mision of university define as the second academic revolution and the emergenece of an entrepreneurial university (Duderstadr, 1999; Vavakova, 1998).
The green Lauš
Banja Luka-the group of citizens „GREEN LAUŠ“, which consists of university professors, presented to the City administration of Banja Luka the conceptual design of multipurpose park in this Bana Luka’s settlement. The goal of this citizen’s action is enlargement of cultural and historical, sports and recreational content in the Banja Luka city. The initiative is supported by professors of Faculty of Forestry, University of Banja Luka Ljiljana Došenović and Branislav Cvetković and Dražen Miljić, secretary of the Faculty. This multipurpose park should be located in part of land which used for garbage disposal near Čenić’s cemetery and above Primary school of “Sveti Sava”. This park should include playground for children, recreation and rest area.
The planting of coniferous tree species marked the World Asthma Day
On the occasion of marking the World Asthma Day (5th May), the Faculty of Forestry in cooperation with Medical Faculty of the University of Banja Luka, organized the planting of conifers tree species on the University’s city. This action is supported by Industrial Plantations, led by Director Dario Jokanović, with whom the Faculty of Forestry has a long-term cooperation. It donated of quality seedlings of conifers. The action was carried out by students and professors of these two faculties of Banja Luka University. The conifers contain a number of substances that have a beneficial effect on the people with asthma, as well as in preventing and alleviating various ailments of the respiratory system.
Free practical trainings for students of Faculty of Forestry
Based on the Agreement on Business and Technical Cooperation, the Faculty of Forestry of the University of Banja Luka and the Institution for Vocational Adult Education (Wood Metal Technical Aacademy) organize activites, which are reflected in: adult education, organizing interships for students, joint apperances towards third parties in common domains of interest.
Current activites on this issue are reflected in the professional trainnig of students. Professional and practical training at a the basic level, which qualifies participants a a designer of furnituter in the CORPUS software, is led by Expert Associatefor training in furniture design Ognjen Vokić, BSc of forestry.
The month long training is interactive and tailored to the needs of the participants.

The professors of the Faculty of Forestry, the University of Banja Luka, have taken part in the scientific-educational show of Radio Republic of Srpska.

The students of Faculty of Forestry participated in the action „1000 seedlings for a more beautiful Banja Luka“ November 2018.
The students gladly responded to the invitation of the city athorities of Banja Luka to join the action of planting young plane trees along to western transit route. Also, as a part of autumn planting of the trees, seedlings were planted on the eastern and western transit routes and in settlments of Ada and Lazarevo. the seedlings of linden, maple, sycamore, palne, Japanese apple and Japanese cherry trees were palnted.
