Osnovni cilj projekta SCAN-DANUBE je da se suprotstavi opadanju šuma poljskog jasena u regionu Dunava kroz razvoj novih strategija i smjernica za upravljanje i konzervaciju ove vrste u aluvijalnim šumama Dunava, kako u komercijalno iskorišćavanim, tako i u zaštićenim područjima. SCAN-DANUBE obuhvata tri tematska specifična cilja: (1) tumačenje i unapređenje znanja o prošlosti i sadašnjem stanju poljskog jasena u dunavskom regionu, (2) unapređenje upravljanja i očuvanja ove vrste u okviru tematskog regiona, i (3) implementacija novih sistema monitoringa i strategija oplemenjivanja u cilju poboljšanja vitalnosti i očuvanja poljskog jasena u zemljama partnerima. | |

Therefore, overall objective of SCAN-DANUBE is to counteract narrow-leaved ash forests decline in the Danube region by providing novel strategies and guidelines for forest management and conservation of this tree species in both commercially used and protected alluvial forests of the Danube area. SCAN-DANUBE includes 3 thematic special objectives (SOs): 1) interpreting and advancing theknowledge regarding the narrow-leaved ash past and the present status in the Danube region, 2) enhancing management and conservation of this species across the thematic region, and 3) implementing novel monitoring system and breeding strategies to enhance the vitality and preservation of narrow-leaved ash in the partner’s countries. |
