Фокус на очување пољског јасена у Дунавском сливу кроз сарадњу шест земаља региона

Први „кick-off“ састанак INTERREG пројекта „Стратегије за очување пољског јасена (Fraxinus angustifolia) у Дунавском сливу – SCAN-DANUBE“ одржан је 27. и 28. маја на Шумарском факултету Менделовог Универзитета у Брну, чиме је овај међународни пројекат званично започео.

Испред Шумарског факултета Универзитета у Бањој Луци, састанку су присуствовали проф. др Бранислав Цвјетковић, као пројектни координатор, проф. др Милан Матаруга, координатор за комуникације, Ранко Васиљевић, виши асистент и члан пројектног тима, као и представници придужених партнера: мр Борис Марковић, представник Министарства пољопривреде, шумарства и водопривреде и Недељко Јовић, представник ЈПШ „Шуме Републике Српске“ а.д. Соколац.

Укупна вриједност пројекта износи 2.263.144,27 евра, од чега је буџет Шумарског факултета 230.555,00 евра.

Пројекат координише Менделов Универзитет у Брну, Факултет за шумарство и дрвну технологију, а партнерске институције су: Аустријски истраживачки центар за шумарство, Институт за шумарство Словеније, Факултет шумарства и дрвне технологије Свеучилишта у Загребу, Шумарски факултет Универзитета у Бањој Луци и Институт за шумарство и заштиту животне средине Универзитета у Новом Саду. Придружени партнери у Босни и Херцеговини су ЈПШ „Шуме Републике Српске“ а.д. Соколац и Министарство пољопривреде, шумарства и водопривреде Републике Српске.

Пројекат ће се реализовати у периоду од 1. априла 2025. до 31. марта 2028. године, са фокусом на очување биодиверзитета поплавних шума Дунавског басена које су угрожене одумирањем усколисног јасена. У наредне три године биће прикупљени подаци о биологији и здравственом стању ове врсте, како би се идентификовали узрочни фактори и развиo акциони план за сваку од партнерских земаља. Циљ је успостављање ефикасних и одрживих стратегија за спрјечавање даљег опадања бројности јасена.

Бројни бенефити кроз учешће нашег Факултета и Универзитета ће бити реазлизовни кроз: умрежавање са партнерским институцијама током израде пројекта, набавка вриједне опрема за факултет, могућност да наши чланови тима раде у лабораторијама на анализама на партнерским инситутцијам у Брну, Љубљани, Бечу, Загребу и Новом Саду, објава заједничих научних публикација, мануала и смјерница за газдовање овим шума као и приједлог конкретних рјешења за управљаче и кориснике ових шума као и други бенефити који се очекују кроз реализацију тренинга и обука за практичаре и трансферу знања добијених на пројекту у привреду.

 

INTERREG PROJECT LAUNCHED AT THE FACULTY OF FORESTRY, UNIVERSITY OF BANJA LUKA

Focus on the Conservation of Narrow-leaved Ash in the Danube Basin Through Cooperation Among Six Regional Countries

The first kick-off meeting of the INTERREG project „Strategies for the Conservation of Narrow-leaved Ash (Fraxinus angustifolia) in the Danube Basin – SCAN-DANUBE“ was held on May 27–28 at the Faculty of Forestry and Wood Technology, Mendel University in Brno, officially marking the start of this international project.

Representing the Faculty of Forestry at the University of Banja Luka at the meeting were PhD Branislav Cvjetković, project coordinator, PhD Milan Mataruga, communication coordinator; Ranko Vasiljević, senior assistant and project team member; as well as representatives of associated partners: Mr. Boris Marković, representative of the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management; and Nedeljko Jović, representative of the Public Forest Enterprise “Forests of Republic of Srpska” JSC Sokolac.

The total value of the project is €2,263,144.27, with a budget of €230,555.00 allocated to the Faculty of Forestry.

The project is coordinated by Mendel University in Brno, Faculty of Forestry and Wood Technology, with partner institutions including: the Austrian Research Centre for Forests, the Slovenian Forestry Institute, the Faculty of Forestry and Wood Technology at the University of Zagreb, the Faculty of Forestry at the University of Banja Luka, and the Institute of Forestry and Environmental Protection at the University of Novi Sad. Associated partners in Bosnia and Herzegovina are the Public Forest Enterprise “Forests of Republic of Srpska” JSC Sokolac and the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management of the Republic of Srpska.

The project will be implemented from April 1, 2025, to March 31, 2028, focusing on the conservation of biodiversity in floodplain forests of the Danube basin, which are threatened by the decline of narrow-leaved ash. Over the next three years, data on the biology and health status of this species will be collected to identify causal factors and develop an action plan for each of the partner countries. The goal is to establish effective and sustainable strategies to prevent further decline of the ash population.

Numerous benefits from the participation of our Faculty and University will be realized through: networking with partner institutions during project development; procurement of valuable equipment for the faculty; the opportunity for our team members to conduct laboratory analyses at partner institutions in Brno, Ljubljana, Vienna, Zagreb, and Novi Sad; publication of joint scientific papers, manuals, and management guidelines for these forests; as well as proposing concrete solutions for forest managers and users. Additional benefits are expected through the implementation of training sessions and knowledge transfer from the project to the forestry sector.
