Međunarodni INTERREG Danube region projekat pod naslovom „Strategies for Conservation of Narrow-Leaved Ash Populations (Fraxinus angustifolia) in the Danube Basin – SCAN-DANUBE“ pod brojem DRP0300848, na kojem učestvuje Šumarski fakultet Univerziteta u Banjoj Luci, započeo je sa realizacijom 1. aprila 2025. godine.
Konzorcijum se sastoji od šest institucija:
- Mendelov univerzitet u Brnu (Češka Republika) – lider projekta,
- BWF – Austrijski šumarski institut iz Beča, Austrija,
- Šumarski fakultet Univerziteta u Banjoj Luci, Bosna i Hercegovina,
- Institut za nizijsko šumarstvo i životnu sredinu, Novi Sad, Srbija.
- Slovenački šumarski institut, Ljubljana, Slovenija,
- Fakultet šumarstva i drvne tehnologije, Zagreb, Hrvatska.
Projektne aktivnosti traju tri godine (2025–2028) i obuhvataju različite aspekte zaštite i unapređenja stanja poljskog jasena u dunavskom regionu. Definisana su tri specifična cilja i 12 aktivnosti, a u svakoj od njih učestvuje Šumarski fakultet Univerziteta u Banjoj Luci. Fakultet je koordinator aktivnosti A2.2 – „Ključni preduslovi za očuvanje reproduktivnosti poljskog jasena“.
Realizacijom aktivnosti na projektu steći će se nova znanja o poljskom jasenu i približiti svim zainteresovanima mogućnosti za optimalno upravljanje, zaštitu i gazdovanje ovom vrstom na našim područjima. Biće donijeti akcioni planovi i predložena rešenja za specifične probleme koji budu identifikovani tokom realizacije projekta.
START OF THE INTERNATIONAL INTERREG DANUBE PROJECT AT THE FACULTY OF FORESTRY, UNIVERSITY OF BANJA LUKA
The international INTERREG Danube region project titled „Strategies for Conservation of Narrow-Leaved Ash Populations (Fraxinus angustifolia) in the Danube Basin – SCAN-DANUBE“ (Project No. DRP0300848), in which the Faculty of Forestry at the University of Banja Luka is participating, officially commenced on April 1, 2025.
The consortium consists of six international institutions, including:
- Mendel University in Brno, Czech Republic (project leader),
- BWF – Austrian Forestry Institute, Vienna, Austria,
- Faculty of Forestry University of Banja Luka, Banja Luka, Bosnia and Herzegovina
- Institute of Lowland Forestry and Environment, Novi Sad, Serbia.
- Slovenian Forestry Institute, Ljubljana, Slovenia,
- Faculty of Forestry and Wood Technology, Zagreb, Croatia.
The project activities will span three years (2025–2028) and focus on various aspects of conservation and enhancement of narrow-leaved ash in the Danube region. Three specific objectives and twelve activities have been defined, with the Faculty of Forestry, University of Banja Luka, actively involved in each. Furthermore, the Faculty is the coordinator of activity A2.2 – „Key Prerequisites for preserving reproduction of NA „.
Through the implementation of project activities, new knowledge about narrow-leaved ash will be gained, offering valuable insights into its optimal management, conservation, and sustainable use in the region. Additionally, action plans will be developed, and solutions proposed for specific issues identified during the project’s implementation.
