Koordinator INTERREG projekta „Strategije za očuvanje poljskog jasena (Fraxinus angustifolia) u Dunavskom slivu – SCAN-DANUBE “ sa Mendelovog Unverziteta u Brnu – Alena Šamonilová je sa svojim saradnicima boravila na Šumarskom fakultetu UNIBL u periodu 16-20.06.2025. godine.

To je bila dobra prilika da zajedno obiđemo neke od lokaliteta sa poljskim jasenom kod nas, te da se kroz diskusiju na terenu nađu najbolje lokacije za postavljanje trajnih oglednih površina i praćenje stanja ove vrste, a u cilju realizacije ovog međunarodnog projekta. Jedan od važnih potencijalnih partnera na projektu jeste i Javna ustanova ,,Spomen-područje Donja Gradina“, na čijem području je konstatovan višegodišnji problem sa sušenjem poljskog jasena što dodatno stvara probleme u načinu uklanjanja suvih i oštećenih stabala, a u cilju sigurnosti posjetilaca.

Naši domaćini direktorica Tanja Tuleković i i istoričar Dejan Motl su ovom prilikom, našim gostima predstavili specifičnosti i istorijske činjenice dešavanja na ovom području tokom drugog svjetskog rata.

Visit to the Donja Gradina Memorial Area as part of the SCAN-DANUBE project

The coordinator of the INTERREG project „Strategies for the Conservation of Narrow-leaved Ash (Fraxinus angustifolia) in the Danube Basin – SCAN-DANUBE“ from Mendel University in Brno – Alena Šamonilová and her associates visited the Faculty of Forestry, UNIBL, in the period 16-20.06.2025.

It was a good opportunity to visit some of the localities with Narrow-leaved Ash in our country together, and to find the best locations for setting up permanent sample areas and monitoring the state of this species through field

discussions, with the aim of implementing this international project. One of the important potential partners in the project is the Public Institution „Donja Gradina Memorial Area“, in whose area a long-standing problem with the drying of Narrow-leaved Ash trees has been identified, which additionally creates problems in the method of removing dry and damaged trees, for the purpose of visitor safety.

Our hosts, director Tanja Tuleković and historian Dejan Motl, presented historical facts and events in this area during World War II to our guests.
