Studenti treće godine Šumarskog fakulteta Univerziteta u Banjoj Luci, u okviru terenske nastave iz predmeta Šumsko sjemenarstvo i rasadničarstvo, imali su priliku da se upoznaju sa jedinstvenim objektom – sjemenskom plantažom Pančićeve omorike u Rogatici. Plantaža je podignuta sa 70 linija polusrodnika iz sedam najugroženijih populacija omorike na području Republike Srpske (Bosna i Hercegovina).
Tokom nastave obrađene su teme kao što su: koncept planiranja i kreiranja strategija za osnivanje sjemenskih plantaža, izbor polaznih populacija, upotreba kontejnerskog sadnog materijala, kao i aktivnosti koje se sprovode u prvoj godini nakon osnivanja plantaže.
Terenska nastava realizovana je 15. oktobra 2025. godine u Šumskom gazdinstvu „Sjemeć“ Rogatica, u radnoj jedinici „Sjemeć“. Studenti su aktivno učestvovali u popunjavanju sjemenske plantaže Pančićeve omorike, stičući praktična znanja o sistemu organizacije ogleda u šumarstvu, kvalitetu sadnog materijala, praćenju sadnica po populacijama i linijama polusrodnika, kao i metodama rada sa kontejnerskim sadnicama.
Studenti su takođe imali priliku da vide i jedinstven objekat – najveće stablo mečje lijeske u Republici Srpskoj.
Šumarski fakultet Univerziteta u Banjoj Luci ovom prilikom izražava zahvalnost kolegama iz JPŠ „Šume Republike Srpske“ a.d. Sokolac i ŠG „Sjemeć“ Rogatica na izdvojenom vremenu, angažmanu i saradnji u radu sa našim studentima.
FIELD PRACTICAL TRAINING IN FOREST SEED SCIENCE AND NURSERY PRODUCTION

Third-year students of the Faculty of Forestry, University of Banja Luka, as part of the field training within the course Forest Seed Science and Nursery Production, had the opportunity to visit a unique facility – the seed orchard of Serbian spruce (Pančićeva omorika) in Rogatica. The plantation was established with 70 half-sibling lines originating from seven of the most endangered populations of Serbian spruce in the area of the Republic of Srpska (Bosnia and Herzegovina).
During the training, topics covered included: the concept of planning and developing strategies for establishing seed orcahrd, selection of source populations, the use of containerized planting material, and the activities carried out during the first year after
plantation establishment.
The field training was conducted on October 15, 2025, within the Forest Management Unit “Sjemec” Rogatica, in the working unit “Sjemec.” Students actively participated in replanting the Serbian spruce seed orchard, gaining practical knowledge about the organization of experimental work in forestry, the quality of planting material, monitoring of seedlings by population and half-sibling line, and methods of handling containerized seedlings.
Students also had the opportunity to see a remarkable natural feature – the largest specimen of Turkish hazel (Corylus colurna) in the Republic of Srpska.
